- An in-person visit within 6 months before starting video mental health services
- An in-person visit at least every 12 months to continue video services
What This Means
- Your first visit may need to be in person, or
- If you have seen us in person within the past 6 months, you can begin with video visits
Exceptions
- If an in-person visit would create a hardship (such as transportation issues, disability, or long distance), your provider may document an exception.
- Please discuss this during scheduling.
Non-Medicare Patients
- These requirements do not apply to you.
- You may start and continue with video visits as long as it is clinically appropriate.
