Great to Meet You! I’m Dr. Michelle S. McBride, DNP, PMHNP-BC, MBA, a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner dedicated to providing compassionate and comprehensive mental health care. I earned my Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) from Rush University in Chicago, IL. Before obtaining my doctorate, I was a board-certified psychiatric registered nurse, gaining extensive experience across various clinical settings, including inpatient psychiatry, psychiatric emergency services, community behavioral health, and forensic psychiatry (jail-based care).
My Approach to Therapy: I believe in a collaborative, patient-centered approach to treatment. Educating my patients is a key part of my practice because informed patients can make empowered decisions about their care. After a thorough assessment, I take the time to explain all available treatment options—including therapy approaches, medication choices, and holistic interventions—so that we can create a plan that aligns with your comfort level and goals.
What to Expect in Your First Session: There’s no need to feel nervous! Our first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other. We will discuss your concerns, background, and treatment goals while working toward a clear plan that suits your needs. Together, we’ll explore treatment options, ensuring you feel confident in the next steps toward your well-being.
